How to I get him to not be upset with me over a stupid txt?

So me an this guy ryan have been talking....we have hung out a few times he has taken me out to eat and brought me buetiful pink roses the other night....an today we were txting back an forth like we do everyday and I told him that I couldn't sleep and he was joking around an told me the reason I couldn't sleep was because I hadn't kissed him yet....I responded sarcastically " yah thats exactually what I was just thinking the reason I can't sleep is because I haven't kissed ryan" well he took it the wrong way...I was just playing around...now he thinks I don't want to kiss him or something and when I explained to him that the reason i couldn't sleep was because every muscle in my body hurt an I had a horrible headache cuz I am trying to quite smoking the only think I got back was a "k" I mean serously just a k....what am I supposed to say back to that...I really like him an I do want to kiss him but I wasn't sure if we were in a realionship like that or not so I have been weary....
