I have SLE disease, what will happen to me next?

Hon, what you have is called Systemic Lupus. This disease is extremely challenging to understand and cope with at first. However, when this disease is properly managed by medications and other treatments, you can expect to have a better quality of life. In all honesty, you need to trust your doctor and work with him. The med you are being given, plaquenil, is often prescribed to help with the rashes (which if left untreated can cause disfiguration). Yes, there are side effects to many medicines but it is not proven that you will ever have to deal with blindness or eye problems from the plaquenil as long as you recieve regular eye exams you can be taken off at the first sign of any trouble. Also, those reported side effects are very rare. To get more information, please look up the Lupus Foundation. You will find that there are many people dealing with the same illness that you are and many resources available to ist you in coping with SLE. I wish you luck.
